Russia was a source of folk music in Eastern Europe. Balalaika is the most well known Russian stringed instrument today. The Balalaika resembles the guitar but with a triangular body. The domra is another Russian string instrument with three or four strings which is used to play the melody in Russian balalaika ensembles. And lastly the gusli, an autoharp with piano-type keys.
